A recent graduate from our theology program at Holy Apostles has joined the Alumni Association Board and has been helping us as Editor of this website, posting updates and news of interest to alumni. Joan AshmanJoan M. Ashman is an executive coach and consultant in talent management strategies, specializing in leadership and executive development. Ms. Ashman has a diverse professional background featuring both line and staff leadership positions during her 30-year career with The Hartford Financial Services Group. In addition, she was Director of the organization’s Leadership Center, with responsibility for leadership development programs and processes for all levels of management throughout the corporation.
Working with clients from a range of industries, she provides customized seminars and coaching engagements to enable leaders to meet their full potential. She has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Hartford and is a member of the Executive Development faculty of LIMRA International. She is a member of the International Coach Federation, the Society for Human Resource Management, and has served on the Conference Board’s Talent Management Working Group.
She is a volunteer at the Cancer Center of Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital, and is a lector and Eucharistic Minister of Communion at St Peter’s Parish, Plymouth, MA.
Ms. Ashman holds a B.A. in Psychology from Fairfield University, M.S. in Management from Boston University, and M.A. in Moral Theology from Holy Apostles College and Seminary. She is past president of the Connecticut Chapter of the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters Society, and served on the CPCU Society’s Board of Directors.
