Biography
UW Professional & Continuing Education
Ernst Henle has a Ph.D. in biophysics from the University of California, Berkeley, where he used physics, chemistry and math to solve problems in medical research. As an experimental scientist at UC Berkeley and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, he researched free radicals and aging. Henle's software engineering career began more than 20 years ago when he created computational models to explain his experimental results.
Henle left academia to join Silicon Valley startups as a software development engineer, where he developed software for bioinformatics, digital pathology and image analysis. He continued this work at Merck, where he also devised algorithms for drug discovery. As a senior program manager at Microsoft, Henle worked on algorithm development, image processing and bioinformatics. As a senior data scientist at Microsoft, he worked on Internet of Things, predictive maintenance and medical informatics.
At Predixion Software, he was the principal data scientist for the first cloud-based predictive analysis platform. Henle now leads a global group of data scientists for Internet of Things at HCL Technologies.
