Rotman School of Management

Elli Weisbaum has a unique background in both mindfulness practice and research.

She has worked internationally facilitating mindfulness workshops and retreats within the sectors of education, healthcare and business. This has included work in Canada, Bhutan, India, Germany, France, the UK and USA.

She is an instructor for the Applied Mindfulness and Meditation Certificate Program at the University of Toronto in the Continuing Education Faculty. She holds a masters degree focused on bringing mindfulness into education, and is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of Toronto in the Faculty of Medicine, with a focus on integrating mindfulness into healthcare settings.

She spent a year as the international program coordinator for Wake Up Schools, a global initiative to cultivate mindfulness in education, established by Nobel Peace Prize nominee, scholar and Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. Elli’s novel background in both academic research and mindfulness practice provides a distinct approach to her ongoing work teaching and researching in the field of mindfulness.

She is honored to be a grant-making advisor for the Pollination Project, a foundation that gives seed grants to individual change makers all over the world. Elli is dedicated to the cultivation of a compassionate and healthy society, and through her work she hopes to continue walking a path that leads there.
