Georgia Tech Professional Education
Dr. Elizabeth Whitaker is a Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) Principal Research Engineer and GTRI Fellow. Her research focuses are Artificial Intelligence, Cognitive Systems, Intelligent Agents, Case-based Reasoning, Learning and Planning, Socio-cultural and Behavioral modeling, Agent-based and Hybrid Models, and Intelligent Tutoring Systems.
She has spent sixteen years as a Principal Research Engineer in the Information and Communications Lab at GTRI, preceded by eight years of research and development in intelligent systems at NCR’s Human Interface Technology Center. Her research has focused on Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and Commercial research and development.
She is currently working on a new approach which uses natural language processing techniques to automatically extract component connections from a system’s technical document in order to reason about their connections and security vulnerabilities.
Dr. Whitaker's Ph.D. is from the University of South Carolina in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) with a focus in Artificial intelligence and Intelligent Tutoring Systems.
