Biography

Chantal grew up in London and did her BA and PhD at the University of Cambridge. She held a research fellowship at Queens'' College, Cambridge between 2001 and 2004. She has worked at various periods for the Cambridge Archaeology Unit, as a site assissant, excavating sites across East Anglia and as a lithic analyst for a number of commercial units. In 2005 she was lecturer in Prehistoric Archaeology at the University of Wales, Bangor. She was appointed to Manchester in 2005 and promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2010. She has served on the council of the Prehistoric Society and on the expert panel for the English Heritage Mesolithic Research and Conservation Framework.

  • The later Upper Palaeolithic and Mesolithic of north-west Europe.
  • Lithic studies (particularly materials, refitting, techniques).
