Biography
Bristol Business School
Amjad Rihan, Founder of Global Business & Financial Integrity - GFBI, is renowned for his credibility in the field of fighting financial crime. Prior to establishing GFBI, he established a new business line for Ernst & Young in the Middle East & North Africa. Following his success, and after only two years of launching the new business, he was promoted to a Partner - at the age of 36 one of the youngest ever partners globally. His last chapter at Ernst & Young ended with a story of immense courage and personal sacrifice, discovering and then exposing one of the biggest scandals in the history of the global gold trade. His impactful revelations are still being followed up by several major investigations (see e.g. UN Security Council Report on Sudan, 2016) which have already led to policy reform and significant improvements scrutinising the gold trade and combating financial crime. He is a chemical engineer with a Canadian Masters degree in Business and Sustainability. He has more than 20 years’ experience working in North America, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. He has had unique exposure to best global practices providing strategic services to leading multinationals, including Fortune 500 companies in North America, Europe and the Middle East. He has also provided strategic advice to law enforcement, various United Nations departments as well as governments and NGOs.
