Alfredo Almeida

Alfredo de Almeida has been involved in the field of localization for the nearly 20 years. Upon completing his bachelor's degree in computer science from the Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro in 1991, he started working as a developer and system/support analyst for software companies in Rio de Janeiro. In 1994 he went to work for a localization firm, and he has remained in the field ever since.

In 1995 de Almeida moved to Dublin to work for Microsoft, first as a Brazilian localizer and later as a localization engineer and project manager for different Windows projects. He moved to the United States in 2000 to work for Microsoft as a localization release manager, program manager and lead for Visual Studio and Office projects. He is currently the localization architect for the Microsoft Business Server International Engineering team.
