Join Yale Professor Howard Forman as he explores current topics in healthcare that impact business as a whole. Topics may include healthcare law, operations, public health, and government policy. Explore the different sides of current healthcare policy debates and expectations for how policy will impact business. Discover how business leadership impacts the evolution of healthcare in the United States.

Program Topics

Every week Yale faculty will convene with participants to discuss developments in healthcare policy and the corresponding impact on public and private sector organizations. The first three topics include:

Pharmaceutical Industry: Current Challenges and Opportunities - Professor Howard Forman will provide participants with a broad overview of the landscape of the pharmaceutical industry, exposing participants to the approval process for drugs/biologics/generics and the challenges facing the industry, government & private payers & the FDA.

Medicare - Professor Forman will expose participants to the current state of Medicare, discussing financing and other challenges such as its impact on healthcare delivery.

Value-Based and Patient-Centered Healthcare - Professor Forman will lead a conversation with Rahul Rajkumar, Chief Operating Officer of Optum Care, leveraging Dr. Rajkumar's lengthy experience working for government and private firms to find more effective ways to pay for healthcare.

For the second half of the program, possible topics include investing in life sciences, federally qualified health centers, and disparities in maternal care.
