Description

Do you have the energy you need to do your best work? If you’re like many, your push to get ahead may actually be holding you back. Evidence suggests that the hard-driving, always-on culture in Silicon Valley is contributing to poor nutrition, sleep deprivation, and stress, which if not checked can leave us feeling depleted and increase our risk of developing long-term health problems such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Upshot: We need a whole lot more wellness at work. In this workshop, students will learn how to design and implement a holistic strategy for promoting well-being in the workplace. They will gain insights into new and creative approaches on how to better empower employees to make healthier choices, such as activating managers to become “multipliers of well-being” and designing built environments that support employee health and well-being. We will also discuss why most workplace wellness programs fail, and how we can leverage the latest research to devise programs that actually do work. In ten steps, students will learn how to assess their organization’s needs and craft well-being programs that are good for people, good for the organization, and effective in building high-performing teams. Students will come away from this workshop understanding what they can do to make a difference in employee well-being (including their own!).
