About the course

In this course, the goal isn’t to eliminate conflict but to make it meaningful and productive. When conflict is productive, organizations can experience positive change, but when it’s not managed well, it can lead to poor outcomes, low patient satisfaction, high turnover, burnout, and more. Learn how to identify disruptive conflict and how to pivot unproductive discussions into more productive ones.

  • Explore expectation setting as a foundation for feedback
  • Examine the dynamics of feedback
  • Learn the fundamentals of effective feedback
  • Prepare for and recover from tough conversations
  • Learn to receive feedback
  • Learn a stress management tool and other techniques to support wellness and resilience in the face of difficult situations
  • Wrap up and determine next steps for integrating tools into personal approaches to leadership

Method of Participation

To complete this program successfully and claim credit, participants must follow these steps:

  • Read the educational objectives provided on the course summary page
  • Attend the sessions or watch all the video lectures for this course (if applicable)
  • Read any course materials and complete any required activities
  • Complete the course evaluation and post-test via your dashboard on the Association website. Successful completion of a given activity's post-test requires a minimum 75% passing score prior to claiming CME credit, with three attempts allowed
  • CME certificates will be available for printing after claiming CME credit
  • Estimated time for course completion is equivalent to the CME credit hours
