About the course

Public-private partnerships (PPP) are here to stay. Despite all the horror stories, bad press and corruption stories about PPPs doing the rounds, announcements about new and significant public-private collaborations get covered in the press every day. Hence, despite dismal performance of prior public-partnerships, new forms of public-private collaborations continue emerging, with the hope that we would be able to master this way of working. For most managers, public-private collaborations are marriages of strange bed-fellows, who are radically different. This introductory course in PPPs aims to cover definitional and conceptual aspects of PPPs, and seeks to create awareness about how public and private agencies can(should) come together for the greater good of society.

Program Benefits

  • Help senior executives develop an informed understanding of the differences in public and private agencies.

  • Develop a deep understanding of what PPPs seek to achieve.

The course runs through two domestic cases, written by the course facilitator. The discussions on the two cases serves to throw out issues through which the core learnings of the course take place. Case 1: Defining PPPs and their evolution in India Case 2: Conceptualizing, construction, and management of PPP infrastructure.
