About the course
University of Utah Executive Education and IM Flash are proud to host a one-day Strategic Leadership Skills Workshop taught by David Eccles School of Business faculty member Dr. Patricia Gorman on Monday, September 30.
The Point of the Mountain Leadership Series brings University of Utah David Eccles School of Business faculty and cutting-edge business, leadership, and strategy learning to the companies driving innovation and excellence in and around the point of the mountain. Our inaugural session is a Strategic Leadership Skills Workshop taught by Dr. Patricia Gorman at the IM Flash campus in Lehi.
Many individuals eagerly await their chance to become effective leaders, envisioning a formal, high-level position earned after years, if not decades, of experience. We believe in the radically empowering assumption that wherever you are in your career, you are ready to unlock your potential as a strategic leader.
In this one-day class, Dr. Gorman will teach critical skills for informal and formal motivation, managing time constraints, understanding risk, and communicating with diverse stakeholders. You will gain the concrete skills and shift in your mindset needed to embrace a role where you motivate and inspire others to take risky, time-sensitive actions to create value and impact.
During this workshop, you will:
- Learn to reframe challenges and opportunities
- Begin to influence others regardless of your level of authority
- Envision your potential in alternate futures
- Find your voice and mobilize your networks
- Learn how to find your next step and chart your path
