About the course

This 10-week online learning journey gives you a broad base in the fundamentals of business. Through five in-depths modules on strategy, finance, marketing, operations and people management, you’ll gain the knowledge and skills to discuss key business issues with confidence. And at the end of the programme, you’ll gain an official Vlerick Certificate in Business Essentials.

After completing this online programme, you’ll:

  • Gain confidence by learning, or refreshing your understanding of, the essential concepts of business fundamentals
  • be able to interpret actions and decisions from (top) management
  • be able to identify how your projects and actions contribute to the strategy of the organisation
  • develop a broad network with the programme colleagues.

Learn to Speak Business is flexible and designed to work around your professional and personal commitments. There’s a new module every two weeks that you work through at your own pace – and you’ll need to dedicate around five hours per week to studying.

The modules bring together a number of learning formats to help you get the most from the programme – including reading, short videos, quizzes and opportunities to get critical feedback from peers. At the end of each module, you’ll take part in a Q&A session with faculty. Throughout the programme, you will also be supported and challenged by your ‘buddy’, a fellow learner.

On top of that, during 2 live sessions, you will become more inspired by engaging keynote speakers, and you’ll collaborate with your fellow learners and develop an even broader network. To gain your certificate, you need to complete at least four of the five modules. But of course, you’re more than welcome to follow all of them.
