Live Session Dates
2 x 2 hr online live sessions over two weeks plus pre-course onboarding content to align and mid-course resources to inform, reflect on and provide additional context to in-session activities.
How you will learn
The Hyper Island approach is different from a traditional online course. We combine hands-on learning in your workplace with a fast-paced, social virtual environment to create a powerful experience that truly pays off.
Each week, a summary overview and provocation will be shared to get your brain thinking and reflecting on brands, strategy, and storytelling. A few resources to support that activity will be made available, but not too many. A more thorough reading list will be provided at the end of the course, with the focus being on the here and now and what you can sustainability commit to each week.
Live sessions, interactive workshops and hands-on tasks
On Wednesday of each week of the course, at 14:00 BST, a live interactive session takes place to focus your learning and reflections. Sessions are multifaceted and social – ensuring all learners get a chance to lean-in. We use the time together each week to go deep, get hands-on. The sessions will be hosted by course facilitators who are experienced leaders of hybrid teams. And of course, we will learn and create on the latest and most applicable digital collaboration tools.
Peer learning and perspective
We find that much of the learning comes through interactions and discussion from your peers on the course. As part of your journey, each of the live sessions will feature time in the program to connect, share, and learn from each other. We are always blown away by the experience and expertise from learners in our course and we work to amplify that for you.
This course is designed to be flexible to your schedule. The time commitment is individual, however, you are expected to spend approximately 8 hours over the two weeks of the course – including participation in each of the live sessions as well as your learning and doing outside of sessions.
What to expect from a Hyper Island experience
How you show up is the outcome you get
Taking personal ownership and showing self-leadership. Leadership is a competence and life skill for everyone. Capability to learn, unlearn and relearn is what propels people to act, build and move organizations forward.
Learn to learn
HOW you learn is as important as WHAT you learn. Content is the platform to explore from and build connections, knowledge, skills, and relationships, while differentiation of format, environment, and depth is what contextualizes learning for its audience.
Learning by doing
Daring to explore and do and being resilient in discomfort. Innovation does not emerge from replicating a competitor or best use case. To learn from them and be inspired, sure, but detaching from norms of change is the way to gain comfort and thrive in the new.
Real world relevant
An intentionally designed experience grounded in research and reality. Intentional with a clear purpose. Whole-heartedly connected to the realities of business and society and human needs. Continuously tuned into progress, changing context and needs.
Hyper Island methodology is based on a learner-centered, experience-based approach. We facilitate learning journeys, where discovering, uncovering, applying and reflecting is all part of the process by which participants learn useful skills and knowledge they can apply right away.
