About the course
This course introduces participants to concepts in management that break free from the old economy and are suited to an increasingly digital world. Over a period of 5 days of trekking and wilderness survival, we discuss frameworks to understand strategies in a digital, dynamic world. The expedition will be led by management teachers as well as experts who have summited Mount Everest and other challenging peaks.
The program is designed to introduce cutting-edge management principles to participants so that they are better equipped to leverage opportunities in the new economic environment. By pushing participants beyond their comfort zones, we encourage them to explore their reliance on standard schemas even when external conditions change. Further, we introduce participants to the importance of decision making under challenging conditions, team-work, and leadership.
The program is designed to (i) evaluate the world outside, and (ii) explore the world within. In the first section, we evaluate the infrastructures, monetization, technologies, and geopolitics of the digital age, and discuss the strategic opportunities the environment provides. In the second section, we explore ways of visualizing and anticipating such changes, and understand the strategic implications of the biases in decision making.
