About the course
Learn how to measure, manage and optimise an impact investment fund
Understand how to generate and use the data you need
Impact Measurement and Management is a specialised four-day course, offered by the Bertha Centre for Social Innovation and Entrepreneurship at the UCT GSB. Impact funds – and those who invest in them – target specific impact and financial returns, so knowing how to generate and use impact data is vital to advance the intended social, environmental and financial outcomes of these investments. This engaging and practical course provides investors, finance professionals, lawyers and consultants with a detailed understanding of the critical facets of impact measurement and management needed to optimise impact investing.
Learn from the best in the field
Impact measurement and management is a cornerstone of impact investing. In practice, generating, capturing and using the correct data to measure and manage impact is often challenging, given the plethora of approaches, frameworks and tools available – and the challenges of time, cost and capacity.
The Impact Measurement and Management course addresses these challenges by providing a detailed overview of the key stages and decisions of developing an impact thesis, measurement approach and management strategy for an impact investment fund. It is the only one of its kind in South Africa. Taught by global experts and practitioners in the field, participants will engage with real-world case studies, gain practical tools for measuring and managing impact and explore topics including impact due diligence, indicator selection, portfolio-level approaches and impact reporting.
