This programme assembles middle to senior executives, working in an international business context, looking to uplift their business acumen and sharpen their leadership skills amidst a group of peers from diverse industries and backgrounds. Typically, participants are working as a function or department manager or are already managing a business. They can look back on at least 12 years of working experience.

This programme will challenge your thinking and give you the knowledge and tools to make an even greater impact on your organisation. We take a holistic approach – exploring your leadership ability, financial insights and strategic thinking and sharing thought-provoking insights and frameworks to help you take your organisation to new heights.
Before you start the programme, you’ll assess the status quo in your organisation and identify where you can make an impact. This will be your focus throughout. After each group session, there’s time to recap what we’ve covered and develop concrete actions to take in your organisation – so you can start getting a return on your investment immediately.
Develop your strategic skills
To help your organisation grow, you need to understand its core business activity and assess how it deals with an ever-changing market. We’ll share the models and concepts you need to identify crucial strategic issues and develop solutions. And we discuss strategy mapping and balance scorecards – using an interactive business <simulation to illustrate how you can manage your strategy and translate it into actions and results.
Sharpen your financial insights
Almost every decision you make has financial implications. You’ll learn to identify the story behind the numbers and how you can use it to make sound financial decisions. You’ll explore what financial statements reveal about an organisation – and dive into working capital management, financial planning, sources of financing and capital budgeting.
Master the key principles of digital transformation and discover how to harness technology to give your organisation a competitive edge. In this hands-on session you’ll participate in a leadership game – experiencing first-hand the impact disruptive technologies can have on business. And you’ll explore digitisation from a customer’s perspective, looking at how it can affect their experience and how your organisation can respond.
Become an even better leader
Throughout the programme, you’ll get the toolkits and frameworks you need to drive results in your organisation. But you’ll also enhance your leadership skills so you can bring teams on the journey with you:
Impactful communication: Having a great idea is one thing – communicating it effectively is another (especially cross-departmental). We’ll explore how to use storytelling to sell your vision and what strategies you can use to influence the thinking and behaviour of others. The Negotiation Style Profile offers a simple framework for determining your negotiating style and the likely effect it has in negotiating situations.
Change agent: In today’s fast-paced world, organisations need to be ready to adapt. We’ll talk you through our Six Batteries of Change model – sharing insights into different levels of the change process and showing how you can create a positive environment for change.
Self-awareness: The 360 appreciative leadership tool will help you understand how your colleagues perceive you as a leader – and compare it with how you see yourself. You will leave the group coaching session with a concrete action. Then at the end of the programme, you’ll have an individual coaching session with your Vlerick coach to follow up on your progress.
Resilience: Mentally resilient leaders are happier and more productive – both for themselves and for their organisations. This session is designed to help you develop resilience and stay motivated in the face of change, complexity and increasing demands.
A network for life: The programme format gives you plenty of opportunities to share ideas and experiences with your fellow participants, so you can build a network you can rely on for the rest of your professional life.
Take on an innovation challenge
Everyone should be responsible for identifying opportunities to grow the organisation they work in. To do this, you need an entrepreneurial mindset – and this two-day innovation challenge is designed to help you develop one. With the support of our coaches, you’ll tackle a number of challenges for a specific non-profit. And at the end of the 2 days, you’ll develop a business case and pitch it to the organisation.
