About the course
We often think about human-centered design as it relates to products and services, but what would it mean to take a human-centered approach to leadership? This course explores exactly that issue, applying a framework of key abilities from the world of design thinking.
Human-centered leaders prioritize their people and culture. They focus on creating a workplace environment where staff are encouraged to grow, develop, take risks, and freely offer ideas. Helping staff develop, individually and collectively, can in turn improve business operations and products, and ultimately result in a better bottom line. Leaders who learn to apply a human-centered approach are able to build trust and resilience in their teams, encourage effective collaboration, and inspire others through clear communication. In doing so, these leaders and their teams are better able to navigate ambiguity and drive innovation—both critical skills in today’s workplace.
In this two-day workshop, through reflection, discussion, and experiential exercises, you will learn the key components to building a highly effective team, drafting an inspiring vision, personalizing your own leadership style, and identifying opportunities to develop greater resilience for yourself and others. You will come away knowing how to implement human-centered leadership in your own work.
