Programme structure and curriculum
The programme contains three main modules, and each module consists of four days of learning and instruction. Upon completion of all three modules, you will receive the Executive Certificate in Hospitality Management.
Developing Strategic Leadership in Hospitality (Module 1)
In the first module, you will explore strategy fundamentals including competitive advantage, capabilities and resources and industry structure, and get an outward view of industry forces, economy-wide mega trends, understanding consumer behaviour and business expectations.
This module includes an Immersion Programme, where participants will personally experience how customer experience is designed and delivered, and eventually apply it as a strategy in their own organizations.
Leading with Financial Acumen in Hospitality (Module 2)
It is increasingly important for non-financial professionals to be able to interpret and analyze the myriad of financial information to contribute effectively to their organizations. It aims to provide hospitality professionals a conceptual toolkit to harness critical financial information for tactical planning and strategic business decisions within hospitality organizations.
Participants will learn to assess financial statements, determine the nature of costs and their influences on pricing and strategic business decisions, apply different budgetary control techniques, as well as analyze profitability and financial performance of different market segments within the hospitality industry. Learning is achieved via hands-on practical exercises and case studies to reinforce technical knowledge and concepts.
Building Data Analytics for Optimal Performance in Hospitality (Module 3)
Besides learning to analyse various types of hotel industry data and make strategic inferences based on that analysis, you will also gain a comprehensive understanding of benchmarking and performance reports in this module.
With this knowledge, you will be able to make informed business and executive decisions that will substantially impact revenue optimization for your organisation, as well as understand the importance of revenue management as a core strategy.
At the end of the programme, you will receive a Certification in Hotel Industry Analytics (CHIA), for industry professionals through a joint effort between STR, AHLEI and ICHRIE.
