How to change social systems? Whether it is an organization, a community, a network, or a team, Social Presencing Theatre (SPT) allows change-makers to gain actionable insights into their current situation, seeing potential opportunities for change and stepping into this potential collectively. When applied as a systems transformation process, SPT helps shift the collective awareness and mobilize key stakeholders towards a sustainable future.
SPT is a contemplative art and movement-based practice that allows groups and organizations to transform social fields and move from an “ego-system” towards an eco-system awareness. This requires stepping out of silos and learning to see and act from the whole. Building on case studies & applications, we invite SPT practitioners for a 3-day application lab. The lab aims to provide a co-creative space where participants have the opportunity to bring in a current systems challenge, deepen the application of SPT practices, reflect on underlying assumptions and design an SPT-based application journey.
The workshop will be followed by an application period, during which participants will be supported by faculty through 3 group zoom calls over 6 months.
In this workshop SPT practitioners have the opportunity to work on their systems change challenge (case) and deepen their practice by
- Exploring stories and contexts: How can SPT help organizations and social systems make the inner dynamic and potential of their social field visible and act on these insights?
- i>Working with concrete cases to better understand: How do we notice a field shift and help our clients make informed choices for a sustainable future?
- Using social field awareness practices to reflect on: What are our own limitations and assumptions about social systems?
- Working on a systems challenge to design an SPT-based change intervention: How do we integrate SPT tools and practice in an awareness-based systems change process?
Who should attend
We invite leaders, consultants, and practitioners who have prior exposure to SPT. You have either done: 1) a Basic and/or Advanced SPT workshop, 2) a Presencing Foundation Program or Ecosystem Leadership Program, or 3) have practiced SPT as part of a u.lab hub or a u.lab-S team. To make the most of this workshop, it’s important that you have an opportunity to apply SPT in a systems change context.
