About the course

Gain hands-on experience nurturing your creative potential while learning to innovate. Organizations increasingly look for innovative personnel to develop new products and services, but creating entirely new markets, delivery systems, and organizational processes and competencies.

Design thinking has emerged as a novel methodology for developing really novel products, processes, strategies, and business models. This new way of organizing work leads to extraordinary improvements. Its effectiveness is based on the clear focus on user needs and experiences, and the iterative experimentation to discover new solutions and opportunities.

  • Become familiar with the logic of strategic innovation
  • Understand the elements of the business model canvas and how they can be designed
  • Learn and experience the practices of design thinking
  • Appreciate the opportunities and challenges associated with applying design thinking in different organizational contexts

Teaching Method

This program is run in a small classroom setting that gives you frequent one-on-one access to USC Marshall faculty. Using case studies, current business articles, in-class exercises, small group projects, our faculty will lead you to focus on the key knowledge and skills you need to create new market opportunities.
