How can you implement a business plan to open the doors to new and fast-growing international markets?

This extensive three-part program provides an applied learning experience during which participants will create their own unique path to reach a target market. You will learn how to understand the challenges of a particular international business and develop concrete skills to create and execute a business plan for international development. Throughout the course, your instructors and peers will support you to develop a market-ready presentation of your business plan.

This program will enable you to acquire general knowledge and operational tools to overcome the challenges of international business development. From strategy to implementation and evaluation, participants will learn how to analyze, create and execute a business plan to enter a new market.

  • Create a comprehensive business plan for international development and learn how to present your case to potential investors.
  • Pilot the various phases of your international development with a focus on risk evaluation, mitigation and other key indicators.
  • Acquire operational skills to manage your project as well as evaluate and communicate on its strengths and weakness.

Participants will attend three intensive sessions of one week, each delivered on our Grenoble campus. The International Business Development certificate aims to develop skills required for the successful design and implementation of a business plan at international level. Thus, each participant will be asked to work on a project related to a specific product or service and to develop and present their business plan through the 3 modules.


International business planning

Core concepts:

  • Globalization of markets and the internalization of the firm
  • Understanding emerging markets and advanced economies
  • Global market opportunity assessment

In this module, you will learn how to:

  • Identify the essential characteristics of a new market (macro and micro economic indicators)
  • Select appropriate entry modes
  • Pilot and implement the various phases of an operational strategy
  • Identify global market opportunities in terms of products, services, target markets, partners and sales potential

International business operations

Core concepts:

  • Key steps of an international operations development project: Strategic approach to projects and teams as well as international distribution and supply chain management
  • Finalizing your project: Individual/pair work to apply core concepts to your project

In this module, you will learn how to:

  • Analyze business plan implementation with a focus on risk evaluation and mitigation
  • Manage planning, risks and costs
  • Understand the human, technical and financial resources required to implement a project
  • Implement concrete initiatives and actions to achieve international development goals

New market development

Core concepts:

  • Exporting: an overview of foreign market entry strategies
  • Foreign direct investment and collaborative measures
  • Franchising, licensing and other business vehicles

In this module, you will learn how to:

  • Create a comprehensive business plan that encompasses strategic and financial analysis, product and service design, sales and marketing challenges, and cultural, HR and legal issues
  • Discover foreign market entry strategies with a focus on the benefits and risks of each option
  • Evaluate the qualitative and quantitative success of a project and communicate results efficiently


  • Acquire the operational tools for the creation of an international business development plan;
  • Learn by doing: develop and test your own international business plan in your chosen country by looking at all the various corporate management areas that will determine its success.
  • Programs delivered in English, within an international context (participants and faculty);
  • Sharing of experience with other professionals and access to a dynamic network of alumni;
  • Participants who validate the three modules also get credits towards our MBA program if they decide to continue studying (credits valid for 2 years)
  • A training developed by a triple accredited business school.
