About the course
The online/blended Business Developer program is designed to give you practical experience and understanding of how to create, run and innovate a business, and find the intrapreneurial courage to shake things up in an existing business, all in an online/blended study environment. Dive into hands-on projects and discover ways to improve your leadership know-how.
Business Developers specialize in running, managing and developing businesses. They use digital channels and tools to stay competitive and sustainable. The content of this program has been designed to meet the needs of today’s industry, is rooted in principles of sustainability and equity, and is delivered by experienced professionals. You’ll be challenged to create solutions to real-world problems, in alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals, through idea generation and business transformation.
What your weeks will look like
The module introduces the participant to a number of tools that support the continuation of all modules in the program. Tools such as personal development, group development, leadership and idea development are introduced and worked on in a practical way. This module also introduces current, global economic and technological trends. This module consists of only one project.
The world is changing exponentially, largely due to the ever-increasing digitalization. Learn relevant models to understand and calculate the evolution of all digital technology and how it affects and is affected by the shifts in culture, attitudes and economics in order to be able to secure future business models. Understand how you can use this to map out when a particular industry will change rapidly with a new type of technology and how you can apply this in business development.
Design for Change
The participants learn why innovation-driven change is difficult, not only for people but even more so for organizations. Module three introduces the participant to the concept of the “organizational immune system” and how to use this model to successfully achieve change from within to large groups of people. The participants learn how to map the company’s system, understand the culture and its needs. They learn to determine why things do not work as they should and to identify what can be adjusted. Basic methods for measuring, extracting and working with data are introduced and how they should be used in a practical way. Participants learn methods of conducting delimited field studies through interviews, gathering insights and learning to create an implementation strategy. Finally, participants can present their work and recommendations in the form of a report to the client or product owner in the organization they work in.
Find an existing business model and design an adaptation strategy to create a sustainable version to develop, test and launch a strategy. Participants will learn about complex adaptive systems, regenerative design and alternative business- and financial models. How can and should business development take place within the framework of measurable sustainability according to the ‘Planetary Boundaries framework’ from the Stockholm Resilience Center.
Participants learn to focus on future-proofing their ideas, ensuring social, environmental and financial sustainability and communicating with the people who will be affected by the idea.
The Future of Work
Today we live in a world where conventional, local employment is not the expected norm to work on. This course deepens the insight and knowledge of other ways of living and working. How to work in a distributed team that works exclusively digitally together and may never meet in the physical space. Participants learn to become their personal project manager.
After completion the students should have knowledge about:

- Tools for collecting, evaluating and analyzing research results and data related to customers, competitors and markets.
- Group dynamics and leadership's impact on well-being, quality, efficiency and productivity
After completion the students should have skills in:

- Apply relevant tools and methods to design user-centric, digital business solutions based on understanding customer needs.
- Manage and run a project in terms of time, resources and requirements.
After completion the students should have competences in:
- Use entrepreneurial thinking to identify and test potential business opportunities.
- Work and communicate effectively as part of a distributed team in an online environment.
- Implement quick prototypes, concepts and solutions.
- Make informed decisions about the choice of strategies for the development of sustainable projects.
