About the course

This course will explore the Internet of Things (IoT), providing a technical and engineering perspective on how IoT works and how to build IoT solutions. Students will learn about the architecture, technology, components, and protocols behind IoT, as well as user experience (UX) design considerations, use cases, and real-life applications. In the Agile development era, and especially in the IoT field, rapid prototyping is an ideal way of developing an idea, use case, or business opportunity; getting early feedback from customers; testing frequently; validating the use case with the client; and minimizing risks. The instructor will demonstrate how to build an IoT solution using various platforms, and students will work in teams to create their own projects. In the final week, all teams will present their work and share experiences and feedback. After completion of this course, students will be able to build IoT applications on their own. This course is intended for hardware and software engineers, hobbyists, makers, data scientists, and anyone else interested in learning about IoT and its applications.
