About the course
Are you paralyzed by mental blocks as deadlines approach? Do you withhold your expertise because you fear being judged? Or, do you kill your ideas before they see the light of day because they're "not good enough"? These actions are usually a result of an overactive inner critic, which all of us have to some degree. Fortunately, there are research-backed methods and approaches to help silence that debilitating inner voice of self-doubt. In this course, you will learn actionable techniques based in neuroplasticity, mindfulness, and self-compassion that can help you recognize your inner critic, overcome self-doubt, and enhance your productivity. You will learn strategies to get past the fear of judgment, begin to trust your ideas, and stop committing "ideacide." You will discover techniques for acquiring and applying new information quickly, and generating ideas alone and with others. Finally, you will learn how to leverage your uniqueness as a career advantage, own your expertise, and share your brilliance. Class sessions will include lecture, readings, and interactive exercises. You will practice as homework the insights and tools you acquire in order to incorporate them in your daily life and to make them habitual. By the end of the course, you will have developed greater confidence in your unique gifts and the ability to do your best work as a contributor, collaborator, or leader.
