About the course

This programme trains high-level executives in the mindset, knowledge, and skills necessary for business leaders in the age of artificial intelligence (AI). AI already permeates large swaths of our lives, and numerous applications upend diverse industries. Through a 6-week curriculum, this course offers individual e-learning, virtual keynotes, and interactive discussions with leading experts, as well as group work and professional coaching sessions. As one of the highlights, participants will learn from industry experts about their AI implementation and its impact on their business.

The programme covers the limits and possibilities of AI, ethical implications of algorithmic automation, new business models in the platform economy, detailed company insights, and scenario planning for strategic decision-making and management of AI.

Participants will receive a certificate of attendance from the University of St.Gallen.

Objective

The programme addresses the learning dimensions of Be, Know and Do. Participants will be able to identify the challenges of AI transformation in their organization, learn about tools and methods to lead their organizations in the age of AI, and become a successful AI leader.

Course Structure

The course provides multimedia on-demand material for independent e-learning plus six weekly virtual sessions with keynotes, discussions, and group work exercises.

Content

Each week covers an essential dimension of the revolutionary transformation fueled by advances in AI, including expert input from machine learning professors, algorithmic ethicists, scenario planners, and business innovators. The course will equip participants with a grasp of the history and contemporary relevance of AI and its many industrial applications and a deeper understanding of the logic and ethics of algorithmic decision-making for a responsible implementation process. They will learn about the opportunities of the platform economy and how to best use AI for their business purposes, and how to plan for different scenarios and most effective executive decision options in the age of machine automation.
