About the course

Management and Entrepreneurship for creating new business opportunities

This blended program aids specialists from the world of science and technology in unlocking their management and entrepreneurial potential. Led by prominent industry professionals and leading academics, participants become experts in the fundamental business skills required for the transition from bench to market.

The program’s Blended Methodology hosts video conferences and online forums via our virtual classroom. During the first and last weeks of the program, participants develop case methods and business in face-to-face sessions at our Madrid campus.

Participants are encouraged to challenge ideas and engage in debate in order to learn from each other, push boundaries and redefine standards.

Every leader’s success depends on his/her ability to obtain results using the best and most appropriate strategy, and making the right decisions taking into account the economic environment he/she works in. Participants will therefore learn two important topics in this module: Strategy and Economic Environment.

This module is made up of four areas: human resources, communication skills development, career strategy and negotiation.

This module will help participants to understand and interpret financial statements, enabling them to analyze a company’s financial health: solvency, profitability, capital structure and operating efficiency.

This module introduces participants to the concepts of capital budgeting, business valuation, time value of money and the link between risk, cost of capital, and the weighted average cost of capital—all essential concepts for making sound financial decisions.

This module enables participants to adopt the customers’ perspective, learn the important issues in the marketing process, familiarize themselves with the current Marketing & Sales trends, understand and acquire the resources to satisfy customer needs, and gain and retain key clientele.

This module exposes participants to the principles of process design, control and improvement. Students will explore the structure and management of different kinds of operation processes, innovation and even advanced topics such as mass customization and micro-foundations of process effectiveness.

In this module, participants will delve into pertinent legal issues in the science and research field, such as intellectual property, technology transfer and licenses.

This module explores the fundamental features of the entrepreneurial mindset, behaviors and skills. Participants will learn to spot business opportunities, gather resources, work in a team and build a strong business plan.
