The IMPACT series, a joint Executive Education program offered by Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and McCormick School of Engineering to help law firm leaders and legal professionals leverage computational technologies for legal services. The first program in the series, “How ChatGPT and Generative AI Will Change Legal Services,” is scheduled for April 21st, 2023.

This daylong program will provide a comprehensive overview of ChatGPT and language generation, their functional roles and impacts on legal workflows, and the landscape of technologies for Legal Services. Participants will learn to capture the benefits and manage the risks of ChatGPT and generative tools, advise clients and establish policies for using these tools, assess their value for new use cases, and make decisions about future innovations and offerings in this space.

The faculty for this program includes Daniel Linna, Senior Lecturer & Director of Law and Technology Initiatives, Northwestern Pritzker School of Law and McCormick School of Engineering, and Kristian Hammond, Bill and Cathy Osborn Professor of Computer Science, Northwestern McCormick School of Engineering, both of whom are leading experts in the field.

This program is designed for law firm leaders, legal operations and technology professionals, lawyers, and other legal professionals deeply interested in this topic. The program will be held at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law in Chicago, IL. The tuition for this program is $2,000, which includes 6.0 hours of highly interactive instruction and small group breakouts, continental breakfast, lunch, and a reception. Course materials and curated resources will also be provided to each attendee.

Attendance is capped at 50 attendees to allow for maximum interaction and knowledge sharing. Participants are required to sign up for a ChatGPT account and confirm that their laptop allows access to ChatGPT before the program. The program is pending approval for 6.0 hours of continuing legal education credit in Illinois, including 1.0 hour of ethics credit.
